Retail Point of sale - Window Display

BLANDFORD FORUM, U.K. - Aug. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Your shop window is your spectacle to the world, your ethos, creativity, your offering and your incentive to potential customers. As a retailer it is probably your most visual expression of your brand and key messages, however subtly applied, that you can provide to passing trade.

Attracting attention for the right reasons requires a clear concept, not too cluttered, or else it will cause confusion, with the added element of intrigue. Passers-by literally have seconds to make a decision, so in order to turn their head it needs to be well lit, at eye level, impactful and bold. Use your window as a showcase for new products, a theme, perhaps tell a story, seasonal changes, what are consumers thinking about and looking to buy for what reasons, at a given time or location?

Try to keep your displays clean and fresh, keep updating your ideas and if possible use your latest product range. In time, customers will become aware of this and make a conscious effort to check out your window more regularly.

Where is your location and therefore how are they passing by? In a car, in a rush, ambling or window shopping along the High Street? Design your window according to how much time potential customers have to see you. If in a car, make the presentation big, easy to view, and maybe with a well-thought-out poster alongside. In a rush? How about a concept with a moving element? It doesn’t have to actually move, digitally or such-like, but create movement in how the theme travels from one side of the window to the other, creating a journey.

For the window shopper, make them keep browsing, give them something to work their eyes around the full of the window, something awe-inspiring with a few unexpected surprises until they step inside.

Continuing the theme inside and stocking the products you’ve had as centre-piece in your shop window is vital to that all-important sale. Make it easy for your customer to find these products, make it a focus as they enter or within a free open space, allowing them to pick up and view closer. With these few extra tips for attention to detail, your window should have achieved its fundamental purpose.
