Three Outstanding Acts Featured at the first Jazz for Peace™ Concert in Finland!

HELSINKI - Oct. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- The first ever Jazz for Peace event in Finland took place at Club Pressa in the President Hotel in Helsinki on October 17, 2015. First to perform were the Visa Oscar Group in a lively set which featured selections from their brand new CD.

Next to follow was Jazz for Peace™ Artist Grant Recipient Pekka Pylkkanen, a  saxophonist, composer, jazz artist, educator, and manager who has performed around the world as a leader and released several CDs that have received critical acclaim. His work is well-known throughout Scandinavia, Europe, South America and Asia as music that continues to push the limits and he is also a sought-after clinician who has given master classes and clinics in dozens of music universities and colleges in more than 30 countries.

Following Pekka and headling the show was Jazz for Peace™ founder Rick DellaRatta who is now considered by many to be one of the finest Singer/Pianists performing today and one of only a handful of Jazz Artists who can make a successful musical presentation to a large audience without having to abandon the true art form of Jazz. His recent Africa/ India tour won the Hark Award for outstanding Documentary Project and was included on The Foundation Center’s list of top musician philanthropists with Bono, Elton John, Peter Gabriel, and Sting. Rick and his group JAZZ FOR PEACE™ have been quoted in numerous publications ranging from USA’s LasVegas.com to Africa’s The New Ghanian as “One of the most significant cultural events of our time!”

In December 2015 Jazz for Peace™ will return to Baltimore, MD for a special holiday event to support Bella's Blessings and 2016 Hi-Lites include a return to Nepal for EduVision as well as the 6th Jazz for Peace™ trip to Africa which will feature a special event on July 10th in Cape Town where Rick will premeir a brand new composition dedicated to Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
