Jennifer Mekel Breaks The Billboard® Barrier With "Great God"

AKRON, Ohio - Aug. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Jennifer Mekel, known in Akron, OH music circles as a noted Choir Mistress, debuts this week with her single "Great God" at #30 on the Gospel chart in Billboard magazine on the strength of airplay from WAOD - Jackson, MS, WTHB - Augusta, GA, and WCAO - Baltimore leading the charge. "Great God" features the Boys and Girls Choir of Harlem Alumni Ensemble and is available now on iTunes.

Mekel dons her robes weekly to direct the choir at Akron, Ohio's Mount Calvary Baptist Church solidifying their status as a leading vocal ensemble in Ohio. She also is known in the region for her annual concerts with the Akron Symphony's 200+ voice Gospel Meets Symphony Choir which has been attracting capacity crowds for the last 21 years. Recently, Jennifer Mekel shared the stage with William Murphy III, The "One Sound" Music Workshop Choir and Donnell Phipps & Delivered Ministries in celebration of the 8th Pastoral Anniversary of Pastor Vincent E. Peterson & First Lady Evelyn Peterson of Providence Baptist Church.

"Great God" is the first single from the forthcoming Jennifer Mekel album slated for release October 23, 2015 which features special guests multi Dove and Stellar Award nominated Earnest Pugh, Swoope, Khyrie Tyler, and H.
