Shasta Pools and Make-a-Wish Arizona Grant Custom Water Play Area for Gilbert Boy

PHOENIX - Aug. 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Shasta Pools and Make-A-Wish Arizona teamed up to grant an 11-year old Gilbert boy's wish for his very own splash pad.

Lucas, an 11-year old Gilbert boy with life-threatening cerebral palsy, received a specialty splash pad in his backyard as part of Make a Wish Arizona's #120 Wishes 120 Days campaign. During the summer months is when many children request to have their wishes granted. From May to August 2015, Make-a-Wish Arizona granted 120 wishes within the 120 days of summer during the organization's #120 Wishes 120 Days summer campaign.

While Lucas loves the water, he does not get in pools because it is hard for him to keep his head above water. For this reason, Shasta built a custom splash pad that enabled him to participate in water fun with his family and crawl through water features without danger.

"We were thrilled to participate in Make a Wish Arizona this year and we were determined to build Lucas a place he could enjoy and feel comfortable, and one that will make a huge difference in his life," said Jim Pinson, Sales Director at Shasta.

Make a Wish Arizona celebrated Lucas' wish as the 350th wish of the fiscal year, a record-breaking milestone for the chapter which granted 330 wishes last fiscal year. Lucas' wish also marks the last wish of the #120 Wishes 120 Days summer campaign. Volunteers from Make a Wish Arizona and Shasta Pools were on-site at the family's residence on Sunday, August 30, 2015 to pull together a fun surprise party so Lucas could see the completed splash pad and all of its elements with the people who made it happen.
