Sister Barbara Fiand, SNDdeN, to present retreat, The True Self

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Sept. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- MORRISTOWN, NJ – On Saturday, October 3, 2015, Sister Barbara Fiand, SNDdeN, will present a retreat, The True Self, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 100 Harter Road, Morristown, NJ  07960.

Sponsored by Voice of the Faithful New Jersey, the retreat will begin at 9:30 AM with a complimentary continental breakfast followed from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM by Sister Barbara’s presentation on The True Self.  After a complimentary lunch, the afternoon session beginning at 1:30 will close at 4:00 pm.  Suggested offering is $35.00.  All are welcome. "Know thyself" is a plea that has stirred human questing ever since it is claimed that Socrates challenged his followers to do so thousands of years ago. But what is our true self, and how can we approach it and embrace it in our time with the insights that have been given in our age, especially in the area of holistic spirituality? Participants will reflect on this fascinating question especially in the light of what science says  today about our fundamental interconnectedness, about the unfathomable Mystery to which even the most sophisticated scientific research must yield, about universal consciousness and the broadening of human awareness, and the effects our intentionality has on the environment.

Barbara Fiand is a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur. She gives retreats, workshops and courses throughout the country and abroad on issues related to holistic spirituality, prayer, religious life, feminist spirituality, transformation of consciousness, quantum spirituality, and the psychology and spirituality of human maturation. She is the author of ten books and numerous articles.
