3rd Annual Black Family Conference: Black Families Matter

CARSON, Calif. - Sept. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Mervyn M. Dymally African American Political and Economic Institute at California State University, Dominguez Hills is excited to host in partnership with the Awaken the Greatness Foundation the 3rd Annual Black Family Conference on September 19, 2015. Families from the surrounding communities and students will take part in a full day of valuable information sharing, interactive and engaging activities with a specific focus on the conference theme of "Black Families Matter".

Topics include: Black Walls Street, Utilizing Community Resources, Wealth Building, Social Action and other Hot Topics! Free Lunch, Groceries, School Supplies, Door Prizes & Vision Board Workshop! Breakout Sessions for Parents & Youth Ages 6-18.

ATG hosts annual Black Family Conferences (BFC) to create synergy between Black families, key influencers and service providers through an educational and entertaining platform. These conferences are FREE and open to all residents in Los Angeles and surrounding neighborhoods.

According to ATG founder, Layla Sewell "The purpose of these conferences is to provide information that will increase the awareness of the challenges Black families face and how to overcome them. The conferences also give families the knowledge and resources to take an active role in exposing African American history and heritage to their families."
