LOS ANGELES - Sept. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Recently the 2015 What A Fan Awards wrapped up its third year honoring dedicated devoted fans for their contribution to sports. The Award Show is the worlds only event of its kind, it was created in 2013 specifically to recognize passionate fanatics in all genres of both professional and collegiate sports. Held in Orlando Florida for the last three years the event has provided recognition for some of the most visable fans in sports. There are several categories fans can be nominated for which include the four major leagues, soccer, nascar, college football and basketball. Additionally there's an American Sports Icon Award which both Dick Vitale and Muhammad Ali have won, an online media and sports video parodies category just to name a few. The show has been moved to Los Angeles, California beginning July 2016 and will be held the same week of the ESPY's.

One of the events most heart felt recognition awards is the Outstanding Community Service Honor, this years recipient was a Tampa Bay Buccaneers super fan known as "Spent." Cheryl Stewart has been part of a great tailgate club called What The Buc since its inception, her compassion for giving and assisting others runs deep. If you've ever had the joy of being around her or seeing her in action you would immediately understand she's just a special woman. She Co-Founded What The Bus Really Matters and has taken her commitment to service to an entirely different level. We caught up with Cheryl after the Award Show to hear from her and how she felt after receiving her honor.

How did you feel when you found out you had won the What A Fan Awards for your years of devotion to a sport and team you love?

Cheryl:
I was shocked, honestly. How do you choose one, just one, fan from a category that praises someone for their efforts in the community. To be named "outstanding" in this area of fandom is, to me, the highest honor. To lend my voice, my hands, my "notoriety" to this area is very rewarding, the possibility of my ideas being spread nationwide because of the light you have shed on me....now that's just amazing.

You're now part of the historic foundation of the worlds only recognition award show for sports fans. What does that mean to you?

Cheryl:
The world. You know when you start out onto the crazy path of a fanatical fan it's not exactly lit or equipped with instructions. Each fan is so uniquely different and yet we're all laced with the same exact passion. It's above an honor to be recognized not only by the "outsiders" but by those you consider peers.
