Joanna Pearl to perform at Chaparral Benefit Concert starring The Filharmonics from Pitch Perfect 2

TEMECULA, Calif. - Sept. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- In a seven hundred and sixty seat theatre, Los Angeles Music Award winning singer/songwriter, Joanna Pearl, NBC’s “The Sing Off” Season 4 and Pitch Perfect 2’s hip-hop style a cappella group, The Filharmonics as well as Chaparral High School’s (CHS) Platinum FX, will perform in support of the CHS Vocal Music Program fundraiser, Tuesday, September 29 at 7:00PM. The event will take place at Temecula Valley High School’s Golden Bear Theatre, located at 31555 Rancho Vista Rd, Temecula, Ca. 92592. Tickets are available for purchase, $10 pre-sale and $12 at-the-door. Event proceeds will support the self-funded vocal music programs at Chaparral High School, which has grown to 107 students this year. Details to purchase tickets to the show are available below.

Each year, Chaparral Choirs host fundraisers to benefit their musical education and endeavors which include hiring choreographers and pianists, covering transportaion and competition fees and funding their newly added music scholarship program for graduating Seniors. This year, they have invited Joanna Pearl, based in Temecula, whose singing and songwriting talents have earned her acclaim by critics and numerous award nominations; one of which was the 2014 LAMA for Hot Adult Contemporary Album of the Year for her debut EP “Sensitive Material”. Choir director Rob Hodo said, "We are excited and blessed that Joanna will be there to share her talents at our CHS Benefit Concert on Tuesday. It's great to have a local musician that the students look up to and that support our programs."

Over the last year, Pearl has visited the choirs at CHS and said, “These kids inspire me. The amazing thing is that the parents, teachers and community continue to fight for these programs.  I know that music is a vital tool for self-expression and self-worth,” she went on to say, “It’s my passion to do what I can to help continue the circle of creativity starting with music in school and expanding to the world of independent music.”

Joanna Pearl
Singer-songwriter and Los Angeles Music Award winner Joanna Pearl lives in Temecula, California. In 2010 she was a founding member of a successful songwriting camp based in Orange County with a focus on developing songwriting skills and live performance techniques. In January 2015, Joanna became a Board Member and Vice President of Communications of the Temecula Valley Music Awards whose mission is “Presenting local talent to the world and keeping music in schools.” She is also a columnist for Headliner Magazine UK distributed online and in Barnes and Noble US. The Filharmonics
The Filharmonic is a boy band unique in their musical talent and cultural diversity. The group consists of six members: Vocalists VJ Rosales, Joe Ilagan, Trace Gaynor, and Barry Fortgang, Vocal Bass Jules Cruz, and Beatboxer Niko Del Rey. CHS Platinum FX
CHS Platinum FX is one of three choir groups at Chaparral High School the located in Temecula, Ca. Over the past four years, they have been under the direction of Rob Hodo. In February 2015, Platinum FX won 1^st place at the Brea Olinda High School California Classic and also awarded Best Musicianship and received the Student Panel Award for Best Group.
