200th Anniversary Celebration Finale

WASHINGTON - Oct. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Thursday, October 15^th Hillcrest Children and Family Center – oldest nonprofit in the District of Columbia will host “Remembering the Past. Embracing the Future” an evening of elegance, celebration and inspiration to include Awards Dinner and Gala Celebration at the beautiful Marriott Marquis Washington Hotel, located at 901 Massachusetts Ave, NW., Washington, DC from 6pm-11pm.

The Guest Speaker will be Media Icon Donnie Simpson. Special tribute performance by Grammy Nominated Singer Deborah Cox to officially commemorate the 200^th Anniversary of Hillcrest Center.  This Finale event concludes three pre-events executed in targeted District of Columbia neighborhoods to showcase Hillcrest Center’s amazing impact over the years among people with mental illnesses, physical challenges, and life adversities. The official kickoff event a special exhibit which showcased the evolution of Hillcrest Children and Family Center from inception to present; as well as the One day “I matter, You Matter, We Matter,” event designed for youth ages 12 to 18 to better equip them to make positive and healthy choices. The theme highlighted the importance of youth in the DC Metro area community and the significance of maintaining good physical andemotional health. Activities included a Pep Rally with Former Washington Redskin and 2016 NFL Hall of Fame Nominee, Clinton Portis as the Keynote Speaker, Health Exhibits live performances by local celebrities and Breakout sessions.
