Oct. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has unveiled one of its latest innovations at IFA 2015 in Berlin: the Samsung WW8500 AddWash, a first-to-market washing machine that lets users add a forgotten piece of laundry to the wash in mid-cycle.

Samsung developed this special technology after it conducted research into what consumers want from their ideal washing machine. Results showed an overwhelming demand for one that allows for extra items to be added during a wash cycle. The door of an ordinary front-loading washing machine can only open when the water level inside the drum is low enough, and most people are unsure how to do this.

The Samsung WW8500 AddWash has an extra door on the upper part of the main door which accommodates additional laundry items, and is opened by pressing the ‘Pause’ button. The machine is also equipped with essential safety features including a ‘child lock’.

“The Samsung WW8500 AddWash is a brilliant example of how our technological advancements continue to improve the lives of our consumers by giving them the flexibility and efficiency they want. The cutting-edge innovation behind this machine is underpinned by consumer research, and we are proud to cater to their needs,” said Michael McKechnie, Head of Digital Appliances at Samsung Electronics South Africa.

The Samsung WW8500 AddWash has an array of smart functions that work across Android and iOS smartphones. Users can monitor the machine’s progress throughout the cycle and receive an alert before the start of a new washing cycle. This function is useful for adding delicate or hand-wash items towards the end of the wash cycle.

The Samsung SuperSpeed feature completes a normal wash in less than an hour without compromising washing performance. The SuperSpeed cycle is enabled by the SpeedSpray technology which shoots out jet sprays of water, so detergent gets rinsed quickly and cleans clothes faster. The water sprays then shower the laundry with clean water, which is drained away simultaneously.

The ecobubble™ technology pre-mixes detergent with air and water, and then fills every inch of the drum with bubbles that penetrate the fabric 40 times faster than the normal mix of water and soap.  The ecobubble™ offers both gentler fabric care and outstanding wash results even in cold water, while reducing energy consumption.

The Digital Inverter motor delivers superior energy efficiency, minimal noise and longer-lasting performance.

“The machine’s numerous features make doing the laundry a stress-free experience. It is designed with convenience and superior performance in mind,” concluded Thackrah.

*The product will be available in South Africa in 2016.
