Pawtucket Toastmasters Brainstorming Next Steps Following Poor Turnout!

PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Oct. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- The Toastmasters demonstration was well executed with Sponsor, Cinti Laird introducing Toastmaster, Marie Bankuti.  It was a lively and fun filled event as speaker David Nadreau gave a speech reflecting on a sad walk down memory lane which was both enlightening and inspirational.  Time can not be baught no matter how much money you have; so spend your time wisely.  Ms. Laird lead an interesting Table Topics impromptu speaking session.  Ann-Mary Currier offered a Word of the Day and kept tabs on people meeting the challenge to speak without using filler words while employing good grammar.  Timer, Michael Madden kept the meeting on schedule. while finally, Anna Kaufman, from the District 31 main office expressed her satisfaction of the well run meeting.  Yet all efforts to inform the Pawtucket community of the leadership development, and networking benefits afforded through Toastmasters Education did not produce the 21 members desired to securely charter a Club for Pawtucket.

While Pawtucket businesses and residents expressed an interest, turn out was low.  A brainstorming committed has been formed that is  interested in hearing from Pawtucket community members as they determin next steps.  Please send all inquiries to:  PawtucketsFinestToastmasters@gmail.com

Perhaps the first Sunday that the Library was opening on a Sunday was not a good day of the week to schedule a demonstration meeting?  Let us know.  Perhaps a week night meeting is best?  Many said that had the Patriots been playing at the time the meeting was scheduled, they would not have attended.  There is an open door for interested parties to have a hand in bringing Toastmasters to Pawtucket.  The 90+ year old Toastmasters organization has been consistently successful in helping people all over the world to increase their leadership and speaking skills.  Are there people in Pawtucket with great leadership potential who want to develop those skills?  Are there people who just want a safe and support environment to practice English speaking skills?  Or strengthen public speaking presentations?  If so, let us know.  Send an email to PawtucketsFinestToastmasters@gmail.com
