"Kuiperoids" for Android Smartphones plays much like the arcade classic "Asteroids" but has been created from the ground up for touch devices. It's retro "old school" gaming like you might remember from the arcade.

In this paid version, for a mere $0.99 U.S. you can remove the banner ads which are probably somewhat annoying on the bottom of the screen and gain pause functionality for when you want to take a break.

The story for the game goes: As mankind has ventured out into space beyond the Kuiper Belt, we've finally found that we're not alone. These insectoid invaders most certainly do not come in peace! Since these aliens were first encountered in the Kuiper Belt surrounding our solar system, they have come to be known as Kuiperoids. Now man must struggle for supremacy in outer space against these vile alien hordes. Take on the epic struggle to save the very future of mankind as you battle both asteroids and Kuiperoids!

Much like the classic arcade game "Asteroids", "Kuiperoids" requires the player to destroy asteroids and aliens. You control your fighter ship by merely touching or tapping the screen. The spaceship is intelligent enough to fly to or fire at your finger position eliminating the need for onscreen buttons. At least for standard controls. You do gain the ability to fire clusters of missiles by touching, dragging, and releasing from an icon on the bottom of the screen.
