The 10-member ensemble, featuring five women and five men, effortlessly transform the stage into a whimsical yet cerebral revival of the four seasons using the human body with spellbinding accompaniments. “Whether it is your first dance performance or your fiftieth, you’ll find yourself walking into a dream onstage,” says Katie Fox, Executive Director at Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College. “Botanica is lush; it is imaginative; Favorably reviewed by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Redefine Magazine, Arts ATL and more, MOMIX Botanica is an unforgettable “90-minute cycle through the seasons, a fantasia of flora and fauna,” according to The Seattle Times (http://www.seattletimes.com/ Dancers whirl like dervishes, emerge from cresting waves and move majestically through the forest. A dinosaur skeleton comes to life, blooming marigolds twirl open, and a dancer’s mirrored reflection becomes a spectacular, many-limbed creature. Optical illusions abound in MOMIX Botanica. Known internationally for presenting work of exceptional inventiveness and physical beauty, MOMIX is a company of dancer-illusionists that have worked in film, television, nationwide advertising campaigns and high-caliber corporate celebrations in addition to touring internationally. Notably, MOMIX was featured in IMAGINE, one of the first 3-D IMAX films to be released in IMAX theaters internationally.
