"Daddy's Little Girl" written by Phil Paradis is directed by Albert Baker and features Tia Link as Charlene, and Chaz McCormack as her abusive stepfather. A father's disappearance and the untimely death of Charlene's husband are the threads that unravel a family mystery revealing dark secrets in a small town in America's Heartland. Charlene spirals into depression and alcoholism as she struggles to come to grips with her husband's death. She questions her stepfather's motives when he tries to comfort her and help her get on with her life. Says Paradis, "It's very different from most of my other plays. This dark one act is an American Southern Gothic tale that follows the plot line of classic Greek tragedy." Albert Baker directs "Daddy's little Girl" and the play's fight choreography as well. Baker's recent acting includes Ready (Love Tank Productions) Actor Tia Link, who plays Charlene, the abused daughter, is herself a lawyer turned actress. After spending her youth in Bountiful, Utah, and living overseas, Link has settled in New York. After a stint at The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, she discovered acting is her only true love. Chaz McCormack, who plays Charlene's abusive stepfather, is recently returned to acting after a long hiatus. He recently appeared in Michael Thomas Cain’s “Where Art Lives.” Other appearances include, “Law & Order”, “Chamber Music” (directed by Michael Moriarty) and the New York production of Celeste Walker’s “Camp Logan” which was nominated for six ADELCO awards. Playwright Phil Paradis was a semifinalist in the Kentucky Theatre Association's 2014 New Play Competition for his play The Red Badge of Stephen Crane. His play Footprints of the Polar Bear won the Cincinnati Directors Competition in 2008. Paradis is best known for Soldier's Christmas, his play about the Christmas Truce of 1914. Currently he is at work on a play about the 19th Century American author Stephen Crane. He is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America. For more information about this event or further details.
