November Event at Manhattan Rep Stages New One Acts 11/18 & 11/20

New One Act Plays Featuring Up And Coming New Writers, Directors, And Actors

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Nov. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Manhattan Repertory Theatre's artistic director Ken Wolf has announced that Manhattan Rep's 'November Event' is a showcase of two performances of four new one-act plays by emerging writers and performed by some of New York's hottest actors. The four new one-act plays include "Leopard Lady & The Lions" by Mike Veasy, "The Guardian" by Coni Koepfinger, and "The Blurryness of the Protector," by Arthur W. French III, and "Daddy's Girl," by Phil Paradis.

The 'November Event' showcase presentations are Wednesday, November 18 and Friday, November 20th at 9:00 pm at Manhattan Repertory Theatre, 303 W. 42nd St. 6th FL, New York, NY. LEOPARD LADY & THE LIONS

Cheeky take-off on comic book heroes and villains focusing on animal's rights with riffs on S&M. Leopard Lady is kind of Catwoman. Super hero catches her, makes her play nice, then they have a romantic "dinner."

DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL

Starring: Tia Link and Chaz McCormack
Southern Gothic tale. A father's disappearance and the untimely death of young husband are the threads that unravel a family mystery revealing dark secrets in a small town in America's Heartland.

THE GUARDIAN
Written by Coni Koepfinger
Directed by Marshall Mays
Original music by Joe Izen
Starring: Susan Skosko
One-woman drama.  Patient in a psychiatrist's office talks about her life begs her former doctor to take her back as a patient because she believes that her new psychiatrist, a former acquaintance, is exacting revenge on her and purposely over-medicating her.

THE BLURYNESS OF THE PROTECTOR

Directed by Kyle Carter
Starring: Kuji Kelly, Atiya Gladden, Veronica Sexton
Internal relations investigation creates havoc with African American female officers involved in a suspect's death. Issues: gender politics, following procedures, and the use of force.
