Brooklyn Artist Brings An Upbeat Chord to 'Cat's in the Cradle' ThemeBrooklyn Alternative R&B Pop Adrian Daniel 'PRIDE' Makes Us Proud
By: Adrian Daniel Today, Adrian is thrilled to release his official single, “Pride" from his upcoming album in 2016. The track features clean yet impassioned vocals over old school sounds with a modern influence, courtesy of driving drums and a smooth piano. While the melody is upbeat and warm, the lyrics touch on heavy and personal topics that strike a familiar theme with Harry Chapin's Grammy nominated 'Cat's in the Cradle'. “Pride is about how the absence of a father/mother could lead to the mistreatment of the person you love because you never got that love from your parent,” says Adrian. "The first half represents my father not being in my life and me thinking if I was the perfect kid maybe he would have wanted me more and would have stayed, and that transitions to the second half and how I turned the void of him not being there towards the person I love, and how pain was all I knew so how could I know how to love someone when I didn't get that love from my father. Which is why I say, 'Father, have I made you proud for what I have done to the women I love.'” Listen to “Pride” on SoundCloud to hear the genre-defying artist do what he does best. https://soundcloud.com/ Embedded Code https://w.soundcloud.com/ Upcoming Shows: December 15 – Bowery Electric – New York, NY (with Peru The Band) About Adrian: While Adrian’s art reflects these influences, it also simultaneously defies all genre or label to create something unparalleled.
