PODS® Pink Container Gives Survivors a Place to Share Their Stories During 16th Annual Pinktober

HOUSTON - Dec. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- In an effort to fight back against cancer, PODS of Houston will paint the town pink in December by teaming up with 100.3 The BULL and the Hard Rock Cafe for the belated 16^th annual PINKTOBER®, Hard Rock's campaign for breast cancer awareness on Dec. 6.

In honor of PINKTOBER®, which was previously rained out in late October, PODS of Houston will sponsor the Intimate 100.3 The BULL’s Survivors Dinner with hot, new country artists Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Bryant.  A PODScontainer will also be completely wrapped in pink and placed out front of the Hard Rock Cafe – Houston located at 502 Texas Avenue. The inside of the PODS container will feature breast cancer factoids, photos of survivors, prevention facts and an area for breast cancer survivors and their families to share their stories.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of PINKTOBER® will benefit The Rose, a local breast cancer organization dedicated to providing access to screening, diagnosis and treatment services for any woman, regardless of her ability to pay.

In addition, PODS will participate in a balloon release on Dec. 2, where Houstonians can release a pink balloon in memory of a loved one who lost their battle with breast cancer.

One out of eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. The PINKTOBER® initiative mobilizes supporters of the cause from around the world to join the fight against breast cancer through creative and exciting partnerships, events, merchandise, & music.
