Follow on Google News | Restoration experts prepare to deploy to flood hit areasStorm Desmond has left a trail of destruction across Cumbria, Northumberland and Lancashire with roads, bridges and rail lines cut off while thousands of homes are under water and without electricity.
By: Richfords Fire & Flood The initial disaster relief is being dealt with by fire crews, lifeboats and even mountain rescue teams. However, once flooding has receded to sufficiently low levels, it is then the time when insurance companies call in our technicians to help rebuild peoples’ lives by extracting flood water, sanitising, drying and repairing homes and businesses. Michael Cooper from Richfords Fire & Flood says crews are preparing to deploy their hi-tech kit: “It is shocking to see how this storm has had such a catastrophic impact on people in the north of England, leaving whole cities, such as Carlisle, under water.” “We are working closely with many UK insurers to prepare resources so that we can help as many people as possible. As water levels recede we will be able to assess the full scale of the damage and then jump into action to start the recovery process.” “We have incredibly powerful drying equipment that can deal with large buildings but also the skills necessary to cope with making sure heritage structures are safely restored.” The media are welcome to come and see the equipment on standby for deployment.
