Follow on Google News | Handel's Messiah to be performed at Trinity Episcopal Church, DC on 12/11The Trinity Chancel Choir and Chamber Orchestra will present Handel's Messiah as a part of the Annual Advent Concert at the church located at 7005 Piney Branch Rd, Washington, DC 20012 on Friday, December 11 at 7 p.m.

McCoy, the Trinity Chancel Choir has maintained a tradition of the performance of major works, including the "Requiem" by Gabriel Faure', "The Seven Last Words of Christ" by Theodore Dubois and Handel's "Messiah." Composed in 1741, " Messiah" was first performed in Dublin on April 13, 1742 and received its London premiere nearly a year later. Since then, the holiday favorite gained considerable popularity,becoming one of the best-known and most frequently performed choral works in the sacred repertoire.
