The legendary Hong Kong Pop Diva, Anita Mui, is often referred to as “the Daughter of Hong Kong” and the "Madonna of Asia”. She kicked off her musical career by winning the First New Talent Singing Awards, organised by Television Broadcasts Limited and Capital Artists Hong Kong in 1982. In between 1985 to 1989, she won the Top 10 Jade Solid Gold Best Female Singer Award for 5 years consecutively. Her ever reinventing and provocative image set her apart as an influential Hong Kong fashion icon. Her artistic endeavours were further elevated by many of her film roles. Her performance in Behind the Yellow Line (1984) won her the first acting award in The Best Supporting Actress at The Fourth Hong Kong Film Awards. Her acting talent was further recognised by receiving various awards, including The Best Leading Actress Award at The 24th Golden Horse Awards and The 8th Hong Kong Film Awards for her mesmerising role in Rouge (1987).
