Goldmoor Inn's New Chef Presents Elegant 5-course New Year's Eve Dining Event

GALENA, Ill. - Dec. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Executive Chef Carlos Valdez has jumped right into his new duties leading culinary operations at the Goldmoor Inn, a luxury bed and breakfast in picturesque Galena.  He’s crafted a five-course menu impeccably suited for an elegant New Year’s Eve evening, complete with a bottle of Chandon Sparkling Wine, party favors, and live entertainment and dancing.

The special menu includes an appetizer of Diver Scallops with Lemon Vinaigrette, amuse bouche of Nueske’s Hand Carved Maple Glazed Bacon with Granny Smith Apple, and salad of Seasonal and Mixed Greens with Candied Walnuts, Crumbled Goat Cheese and Balsamic Strawberries with house made dressings.

Guests may choose from four entrée selections including 1.5 Pound Grilled Whole Maine Lobster with Saffron Butter, served with Rice Pilaf; a 6 oz. Beef Tenderloin with Red Wine Demi-Glace and Rosemary Butter served with Homemade White Truffle Mashed Potatoes; a Free Range Amish Chicken Breast Filled with Goat Cheese and Sun Dried Tomatoes served with Sweet Potatoes Au Gratin; or a Grilled Vegetable Lasagna Basil Pistou.  All entrees are all served with a mélange of roasted vegetables Herbs de Provence or grilled asparagus, and salmon may be substituted for any entrée.

A selection from the house made desserts offer Kahlua Tiramisu, Crème Brulee, Chocolate Mousse, or Raspberry Sorbet for a sweet finale.

Dinner is served starting at 8 p.m. and costs $135 per person, plus tax and gratuity.  Reservations are required.
