A native of Mission Hill in Roxbury, MA Scott was a police officer with the Brookline Police Department for 31 ½ years, retiring at the rank of Captain. Prior to joining Safer Places, Scott was the Vice President of Government and Community Affairs for Longwood Security. Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and earned his Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Scott served in Vietnam. He taught Ethics and Integrity to 29 classes of graduates at the Transit Police Academy and also taught in police academies in New Hampshire, Vermont, Randolph MA, Norwood MA, and Reading MA. Scott is a former Executive Board Member of the MA Police Association and is a member of the MA Chief of Police Association, ASIS International and the Association of Residential Security Directors. Scott resides in Walpole with his wife Dorothy; they are the parents of three sons and have two grandchildren. Scott has run the Boston Marathon six times, the New York Marathon twice and completed four Pan Mass Challenges.
