Follow on Google News | DBMC Invites Families to Celebrate FIRST NIGHT 2016 in Delray Beach - December 31 Starting at 5 pmBy: PR-BS Inc. (Delray Beach, FL – December 21, 2015) Once again, Delray Beach is hosting the best family friendly party in South Florida. From toddlers to teens, First Night 2016 offers fun and games for the whole family on New Year’s Eve. The annual celebration will offer the same family fun, but the layout of the event has changed. Atlantic Avenue will not be closed to traffic. The year’s event event will stretch from Old School Square Park through Swinton and NW 1st Avenue (which will be closed to traffic) and into the Tennis Center. Family friendly activities will be concentrated at the Tennis Center area from 5 pm until midnight with activities at the 100 Foot Christmas Tree winding down around 9 pm. “Atlantic Avenue can get a little busy on New Year’s Eve, so we want the families to be able to enjoy the First Night activities in a calmer environment at the Tennis Center as the evening progresses,” Attendees can enjoy food trucks and family fun on Swinton Avenue this year. Little kids can romp in the Toddler Play Center or ride the kiddie train. Teens will love the inflatable Saber Toothed Tiger and Forest activities. Parents can relive their misspent youth in the Vintage Game Room featuring pinball, video games and board games, all backed with an 80's soundtrack at the Community Center gym. There will be live music by SoleMark at the stage on NW 1st Avenue in front of the Community Center and a dance party with DJ Al Johnson at the Old School Square outdoor pavilion. All-time favorites such as the Celebration Crowns, Creation Station and fireworks will be back this year. The First Night New Year’s Eve party begins at 5 pm and runs until midnight. The party will include fireworks at 9 pm for kids, and fireworks at midnight for those who want to celebrate the arrival of the New Year. First Night 2016 wristbands can be purchased for $10, or buy a commemorative button for $15 that will provide unlimited access to most activities. Buttons are $10 in advance and $15 on December 31. Commemorative buttons are $15 until December 30 and $20 on December 31. Buttons and wristbands allow entry to all First Night activities. Children under 3 are admitted to First Night free.
