‘Turn and Burn’ and ‘Living the Dream’, teams sponsored by St. Croix-based Cane Bay Partners VI LLLP and managed by Co-CEO David Johnson, were not to be outdone as they paraded through the Christiansted harbor displaying their decorated vessels. The St. Croix Christmas Boat Parade has been one of the most anticipated celebrations of the Christmas season since its inception in 1994. It has always attracted a crowd, and this year boasted one of its largest turnouts in history. People from all parts of the St. Croix community gathered to watch the decorated boats glide by, listen to music, buy local dishes, and spend time with their families. Many even dressed for the occasion, as many Santa hats were dispersed among the onlookers. David Johnson and his fiancée, Jackie Goodyear, were in on the Christmas spirit. They both arrived at the event in sparkly Santa hats to show their support for their boats. The boat parade is one of their favorite events of the season as well. “The boat parade is a great way to bond with family, and always reminds me of the beautiful St. Croix community that I am proud to be a part of,” Johnson noted. Although the parade itself began at 6:00 pm and ended around 7:45 pm, the festivities continued into the night as participants and onlookers rang in what will hopefully be a safe and merry Christmas season for the island of St. Croix.
