LRS Plumbing “Season of Giving” with THE STENTORIANS of the LA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Dec. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- ‘Tis the season for giving, and continuing to spread joy after the holidays is LRS Plumbing — a family owned and operated plumbing business proudly serving Los Angeles communities since 1997. As part of their ongoing philanthropy efforts, LRS Plumbing started "Our Season of Giving" to give back to their community by providing services free of charge to a needing person/family. This season, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, by way of their African-American firefighters association THE STENTORIANS, will lend their support and manpower to help with the success of the community project on Monday, January 4, 2016 in the 8100 block of 3^rd Ave in Inglewood, CA, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Recipients for the 2015 Season of Giving are Mr. and Mrs. McGhee who have lived in the Inglewood area for more than 20 years and have a dire need for many upgrades to their current plumbing system. A tankless water heater, new kitchen fixtures and enhancement of their plumbing drains are just a few improvements LRS Plumbing will provide free of charge. With the help of local sponsors LOWE’s, HP Paint Services and Eco Tech, the McGhee’s will also receive exterior painting and eco landscaping.

“Our 2015 Season of Giving recipient is a deserving elderly couple who was selected from various entries since our outreach this November 2015. After reading their story and assessing their home, we were compelled to choose them due to their immediate plumbing needs,” says General Manager Leonard Redway.

Led by LRS Plumbing team members, others participating on the day of activities are: Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby, STENTORIAN President and Battalion Chief Robert Harris, Fire Captain Joe Williams, with a special invite to the City of Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts.

STENTORIAN President Robert Harris says, “This event was brought to our attention by one of our trusted Fire Captains Joe Williams and immediately we were onboard because it was a perfect fit to expand our outreach with the community.”

About the STENTORIANS

The STENTORIANS organization was founded in 1954 by African-American firefighters of the Los Angeles City and Los Angeles County Fire Departments. Their purpose and goals were to band together and address the discrimination and segregation challenges in the City's Fire Department. The name STENTORIANS was selected for its appropriateness from the word Stentor, a Greek Herald described in the Iliad as having the voice of fifty men, extremely loud and powerful, audibly expressing a very forceful sound.
