Director Dabrina Sandifer says of The Piano Lesson, “I am greatly pleased to be working on this strong piece with such a dynamic cast/crew. To me, this is a story of redemption, family units, legacy, and the quest of defining oneself as an individual within the given units of family, relationships, society, etc. in addition to the suffocating binds of racism, classism, etc. I allow room for the spectator's interpretation; Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright August Wilson died in 2005 after completing ten plays chronicling the African-American experience in the 20th century, decade by decade. The Piano Lesson is the 4th play in this series.
