Velma Hart Celebrates 25 Years in Nonprofit Management

WASHINGTON - Jan. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Velma Hart, a proven and respected association professional is celebrating 25 years in nonprofit management. During her expansive career, she has earned a reputation for her vision, leadership and innovative ideas for 21st century organizations. Additionally, her statements to President Obama during a televised town hall meeting and her role as a frequent commentator on CNBC and MSNBC have secured her position as a respected voice not only in her industry, but throughout the U.S.

Hart has served as the chief financial officer of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and national financial officer for AMVETS National Headquarters. She has also held various positions with organizations such as The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO). Hart has served as a Secretarial appointee to the Advisory Committee on Women Veterans for the Department of Veteran Affairs and is a proud Army Reserve veteran, a 2005 ASAE Fellow and a Certified Association Executive (CAE).

In 2014, Hart received the American Society of Association Executives’ Professional Performance Award. The honor was bestowed in recognition of her proven track record of organizational transformation and turnaround, and creation of non-dues revenue and corporate sponsorship models resulting in new revenue annually.
