Follow on Google News | ![]() Lee Canyon Launches Ski Racing and Development Clinic Series for 2015/16 Winter SeasonSwiss alpine ski team member turned Lee Canyon ski pro to lead intermediate and advanced ski clinics
By: Lee Canyon Participants in the Juniors Race Clinic are organized by skill level into small groups. Fundamental skiing techniques, navigating various types of terrain and conditions will be taught. Students will also be introduced to ski racing and racing techniques. The Masters Race Clinic focuseson developing strong technical and tactical skills in and out of the racecourse. This clinic prepares skiers for NASTAR-level racing, the largest recreational ski and snowboard race program around the world. Kollegger is a Swiss Snowsports Level 4 certified ski instructor, Professional Ski Instructor Association Level 3 certified instructor and a United States Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) Level 300 certified coach.Both programs utilize USSA (United States Ski Association) “Our goal has always been focused on developing lifelong skiers and snowboarders through our various programs,” said Kevin Stickelman, Lee Canyon’s president and general manager. “We wanted to elevate the popular youth programs to the next level by offering intermediate and advanced ski and snowboard programs taught by world class instructors.” There are also limited spots available in the February session of Lee Canyon’s youth multi-day programs including the Mountaineers Program that caters to skiers 3 to 6 years old, and the Freeride Program, which is for both skiers and snowboarders ages 7 to 14. Both programs run every Saturday from Feb. 6-27, 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Sessions are $299 per person and include an unlimited 2015/16 youth season pass as well as lunch on each of the four program days. Season-long ski or snowboard equipment rental can also be added for $149; helmets are required for all participants. The January session has sold out.
