Visual Paradigm 13.0 Released!

Jan. 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Visual Paradigm is a design and management tool designed for software development teams. It features requirements management, software design with UML, SysML, BPMN, ERD, DFD, code engineering, database engineering, hibernate, wireframe, etc. Version 13.0 of Visual Paradigm focuses mainly on improving their requirements gathering support. It also includes 6 minor new features and enhancements. The following lists out a summary of the new and enhanced features.

[New Features]

Manage requirements online
Manage and browse requirements directly on the web (nothing to download or install). The web based UeXceler provides users with a more convenient way to record and clarify requirements when meeting remotely with stakeholders. It also ensures the project team will stay up to date with any requirement changes. Stakeholders and project team have access to same and latest set of use cases, user stories and sprints.

Re-designed sprint management interface
The screens associated with sprint management are completely revamped. Users can now manage sprint and member much easier.

Context-based UeXceler toolbar
Provide quick access to tools available for the active editor pane.

User story changes logged
Automatically keep history for all the changes made to user stories.

Re-designed user story filter
A single filter is introduced as a combination of the former use case and tag filter. User can now create single filter for listing user stories in specific use case, with specific tags added.

Indication of branch-editing use cases and user stories
For use cases being modified under a branch, their icons will be rendered differently. User can move your mouse pointer to it to see the editing branch. This enhancement avoids conflicted changes from being made between trunk and branches.

[Enhanced Features]

- Able to process Java 8 syntax when forming class model from Java source files.

- Supported screen capturing tool on Mac, which allows users to take snapshots for system screens and incorporate them into wireframes for re-editing.

- Supported specifying collation for database column. The change will also apply to DDL generated from ERD.

- Supported column types bigtime and bigdatetime. Users can now set columns into bigtime and bigdatetime. The change will also apply to DDL generated from your ERD.

- Supported the use of nested conditional checking when writing document templates. It allows users to filter project data more effectively than before.

- Enhanced bulk sharing in PostMania - By sharing a project or a model, diagrams in the project or model, no matter exist at the moment you share or be added later on, will all be shared.
