"Unsung Heroes" Celebrating Heroes in our Community 2016 Gala Featuring Patti LaBelle

WASHINGTON - Jan. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- The Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) invites you to save the date of Friday, March 11^th, as we celebrate “Unsung Heroes” in our DC Metro area.  The 44^th Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Memorial Gala will be held at the beautiful Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington, DC and is an annual fundraiser which features a full performance by none other than the incomparable force known to the world as Patti LaBelle.   This year’s Gala will be full of excitement and surprises from the VIP reception with NAACP Image Award nominee; Jazz Pianist Marcus Johnson, special announcer WPGC’s Guy Lambert of the “Joe Clair Morning Show” and returning as the Master of Cermonies NBC 4 news anchor Jim Vance.  You will also have many wonderful gifts to select from during our silent and Live Auctions. The funds raised at the Gala assists the GWUL in continuing it’s work in the DC Metro community with programs in areas such as Home Ownership, Entrepreneurship and Scholarship.
