Toronto Social Worker Releases “I’m Still Standing” Series

TORONTO - Jan. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- Jemila Jackson (http://www.jemjackson.com/), a Toronto Social Worker, Counsellor and Blogger has released the pilot to her 5-part docu-series “I’m Still Standing” that features five women sharing their incredible stories of overcoming adversity and exhibiting courage to attain success. “I’m Still Standing is a documentary series that highlights women and their journeys of overcoming unimaginable obstacles,” said Jackson. “Season 1 highlights the stories of 5 women across Canada and the U.S. who empower us by sharing how they are still standing.”

Jackson speaks from a position of authority and is a success story herself. She was homeless for a time as a child as her mother fought to escape abuse. Bullying, depression and anger were all part of her life that she talks candidly about in episode 1.

The five-part series will highlight the following special guests:

Paulette Cleghorn appears in episode 2 on Feb. 4, 2016. Creative director at Yumi Katsura North America and the CEO of Designer Loft productions, Cleghorn recalls the tragedy that affected her entire family when she was a child.
Marcella Kennedy will take center stage in episode 3 on Feb. 18, 2016. A childcare provider, blogger and owner of bbinsideout.com, she shares her journey of infertility with viewers.
Talia Bryan will be the featured guest in episode 4 on March 3, 2016. A licensed social worker, she works for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. and was the victim of domestic abuse.
Andrée Nicole will be featured in episode 5 on March 17, 2016. An educator, author and certified life coach, Nicole relates the fear, physical repercussions and emotional challenges she faced following a car accident.
Shereen Ashman will round out the series in episode 6 to air on March 31, 2015. A serial entrepreneur, fashion stylist and program manager at Community Empowering Enterprises, she revisits her humble beginnings in the Caribbean and a near death experience from gun violence.

Jackson is already seeking stories for season two. Women who have overcome extraordinary circumstances, have persevered to become strong and successful women, and are willing to appear on camera can visit “I’m Still Standing (http://www.imstillstandingseries.com/submit-your-story/)” to submit their story.
