The effectiveness of insulated glass can be expressed as an R-value, which is a comparative measurement of insulation, or the ability to resist heat transfer. Our Dual Pane windows are two layers of glass separated by a thermal gap. They have an R-value of 2.1, which is excellent for most homes. You can also add a "Low E" option that further reduces radiant heat transfer, bringing the R value to 2.9. which is preferable for an energy efficient building.

The glass styles we offer are all 6 mm ‘float glass’ or ‘rolled glass’. Both the plain and tinted glass windows are made with float glass. The textured, obscuring glass styles are made with ‘rolled glass’. This kind of glass is manufactured by squeezing the semi molten glass through rollers to impart the texture. Textured, obscuring glass gives privacy, without reducing the amount of light entering your home.

In the case of decorative, textured or tinted glass, the inside layer of glass is clear, while the outside layer contains the texture or tint. ** Exterior glassdoors and opening widows are required to be made from tempered safety glass because of the risk associated with broken glass in the event of an accident.
