Jan. 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Please join the American Conference on Diversity’s honorary Humanitarian Awards chairs – Investors Bank President and CEO Kevin Cummings and Carol Evans Enterprises CEO Carol Evans – at the spectacular 2016 Statewide gala on Thursday, April 7, in West Orange, NJ, for an evening of dining, diversity journeys, and more. Mr. Cummings and Ms. Evans were 2015 Humanitarian Award winners for their remarkable leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion.

This event – the biggest annual fundraiser for the American Conference on Diversity – helps to raise $300,000 to support our capacity to continue to provide diversity and inclusion services to students, schools, workplaces, and communities, including the Lead for Diversity (http://americanconferenceondiversity.org/2013/08/05/nj-lead-for-diversity-high-school-student-delegates-train-to-be-the-change-this-fall/) (LFD) Institute. The yearlong LFD program, which has positively impacted the lives of more than 3,200 high-school students over the past 20 years, provides leadership-development training and human-relations skills to position youth for career success.

“The American Conference on Diversity and Investors Bank share common goals of building strong character, developing leadership skills, and providing boundless opportunity for this and future generations of New Jersey’s youth,” said Corporate Humanitarian (http://americanconferenceondiversity.org/2015/03/03/inves...) honoree Mr. Cummings.

Award co-chair Ms. Evans, founder of Working Mother Media, was last year’s Diversity Ambassador Award (http://americanconferenceondiversity.org/2015/03/23/celeb...) honoree.

“Carol has been at the forefront of advancing women in the workplace nationwide for more than 30 years – and she continues to help open doors of opportunity for our next generation of leaders,” said American Conference on Diversity President and CEO Elizabeth Williams-Riley. “The complex dimensions of diversity create unique challenges and opportunities and our charge at the American Conference on Diversity is to implement initiatives designed to provide educators, professionals, emerging leaders, and youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to work toward the creation of equitable and inclusive institutions.”

This year’s fundraiser will include a silent auction of artwork, sports memorabilia, and fine jewelry items. The annual event will kick off with a stellar cocktail and networking reception at 6 p.m. at the historic Pleasantdale Château (757 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, NJ 07052).

Seats are limited! To purchase tickets or to make auction item donations, contact Gala Coordinator Barbara Getze at bgetze@aol.com or (800) 626-8097 today. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Various sponsorship opportunities are also available.
