Reliance Founder Dhirubhai Ambani gets Padma Vibhushan

NEW DELHI - Jan. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Reliance India founder and business tycoon, late Dhirubhai Ambani was awarded with the nation’s second highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan on the occasion of Republic Day.

Dhirubhai is the only personality chosen for the Padma Vibhushan under the category of Trade and Industry; Home Ministry mentioned in an interview. There are 10 Padma Vibhushan winners among 112 Padma Awardees.


What started off as a relatively small company, Reliance transformed into a world conglomerate now carried forward by sons Anil and Mukesh Ambani.

Mentioning Dhirubhai as the greatest entrepreneur and wealth creator in the history of India Anil Ambani, chairman of the Reliance Group said, “The true legacy of Dhirubhai lies in the inspiration that he continues to provide to millions of young people, who are dreaming impossible dreams, and setting out to achieve their entrepreneurial ambitions."

With DhirubhaiAmbani, Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, media tycoon RamojiRao, Former Jammu and Kashmir governor Jagmohan, cancer specialist Dr. V Shanta and eminent Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dancer YaminiKrishnamurthi, former DRDO chief V K Aatre have also been awarded with the Padma Vibhushan.
