CHICAGO - Feb. 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Chicago, IL--(February 02, 2015) – Don Arnette, Author of “I’m Supposed to be Here” – The Art of Dealing with Perceptions, Youth Mentor, and the first African American male to receive a PhD. from UT Southwestern, will be begin his first of several planned speaking engagements scheduled February 17th – 19th when he speaks to a corporate audience made up of Citibank employees. Citibank is the consumer division of financial services multinational corporation Citigroup.

Doctor Arnette will speak to the Citibank group and other audiences over the course of his 3 days of speaking engagements about three of the main topics that motivated him to write his book, “I Am Supposed to be Here – The Art of Dealing with Perceptions. Doctor Arnette will speak about his desire to change the perceptions of society and the youth today, and how success is identified. He will speak about Authority figures and offer positive methods for dealing with them. He will also speak about and offer practical concepts for overcoming personal adversity.

“I want to do everything I can to help open the minds of our youth to the endless possibilities that exist for them,” said Dr. Arnette” We shouldn't allow the traditional perceptions associated with certain careers deter them from pursuing them. You should never let your speed bumps turn into road blocks.”

About Dr. Don Arnette:

Dr. Don Arnette (http://www.DocArnette.com)  earned a Ph.D. from UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he was the first African American male to receive a Ph.D. from the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology (DCMB). His post-doctoral fellowship in Cardiology, with the department of Human Growth and Development, was led by Nobel Prize winning physicians, Drs. Mike Brown and Joel Goldstein. Dr. Arnette has worked with the Dallas Heart Study, the American Heart Association, major pharmaceutical companies, including Bristol Myers Squibb, in addition to having led the Genetics of Longevity in African Americans Study. Since 2010, Dr. Arnette has been drawn to motivational speaking and mentoring both the local youth and professional athletics in the Dallas metro area. He relates to his audiences by being transparent about his trying journey to success. His purpose is to change both the perception and reality of those who hear him.
