The Village of Baytowne Wharf Hosts the 27th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival

DESTIN, Fla. - Feb. 4, 2016 - PRLog -- The 27^th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival is scheduled to take place at the Village of Baytowne Wharf on Friday and Saturday, the 12^th and 13^th of February. This event invites the local restaurants and businesses to compete for the title of “Area’s Best”. Five categories of third, second and first place awards will be given for “Best Gumbo in South Walton”.

A preview to the main event begins on Friday, February 12^th, at 4:00pm. Fat Tuesday’s, located at Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, will host a Crawfish Boil Kick-Off Party. This sports bar/restaurant will serve Crawfish for $5 per plate, no reservations or tickets needed.

The main event takes place on Saturday, February 13^th at 12:00pm in the Village of Baytowne Wharf. A Taster’s Guide and wristband will be given to those attending the outdoor event. Tents will be arranged throughout the Village featuring area restaurants and their gumbo entries. Disposable sample cups and spoons will be placed at each tent. All participants are encouraged to cast their vote for the People’s Choice award.

A panel of celebrity judges will also be participating to judge the categories of Veteran’s Award, 5 Years and Under, First Year and Best Display. Over sixteen Gulf Coast restaurants and businesses will be vying for title of “Area’s Best Gumbo”. Patrons of the event will spend the afternoon tasting gumbo, listening to live Zydeco music and participating in family entertainment.

A veteran event for South Walton, the 27^th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival tickets sell out quickly. Tickets can be purchased in advance online and 30A rentals are available near the event.
