3 Day International Conference on Management of Infrastructure

Feb. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Dehradun: Continuing   its saga of constructive deliberation over   thought provoking issues in the field of Energy, Infrastructure, & Transportation (EIT), College of Management and Economics Studies of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is all set to hold fourth edition of International Conference on Management of Infrastructure on February 4-6, 2016.

Smt Vibha Puri Dass, who superannuated as Secretary of Higher Education, Ministry of HRD, Government of India would be inaugurating the conference as “Chief Guest” on 4^th morning. Other eminent personalities addressing this three day conference would include Prof. Anupama Sen, Oxford University, UK (through Skype), Mr. Baharul Islam – Professor, IIM – Kashipur, Mr. Ashok Bhattacharya, Editor, Business Standard, Mr. Ratna Jyothi Dutta from CIDC, New Delhi, Mr. S.N.Verma, Managing Director, UJVNL, Mr. Ashok Arya, Director (Operations) Simplex Infra, Dr. Pravakar Sahoo from Institute of Economic Growth  and Mr. Narendra Kumar, MD – Indraprastha Gas Limited”.

The conference aims to address the opportunities and challenges involved in Energy, Infrastructure, & Transportation (EIT) segments, it also attempts to give a special emphasis to the current in-demand theme of ‘Globalization, Urbanization, & Digitalization’ that has become a top priority to both policy makers and researchers.“ICMI has  become  regular feature  and  vibrant  platform for  researchers, academicians and    industry professionals  who are  contributing  research papers, case studies and articles covering domains of EIT and others including functional areas like marketing, human resources, logistics & supply chain, accounting & finance, operations, communication, systems, information technology, business analytics, entrepreneurship, international trade and business etc”.

Dr Tarun Dhingra, Convenor of the conference shared that this year over 60 research papers  have been received   from  reputed institutions like IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Kashipur, IOCL, School of Business, Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, Tauranga, New Zealand , Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADe), Indian Oil Corporation Limited, R&D Centre, Symbiosis International University, Pune, Digital Strategist, Clever Today Inc., Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Al Hosn Gas, Abu Dhabi, GAIL India Limited, Delhi, Indraprastha Gas Limited, New Delhi, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, New Delhi , IBQ institute Mexico, Institute of Energy Management and Research.

Chipko movement -famed and Eminent Environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna would conduct Key Note Session on Environment –“Environmental Challenges in Hydro Power”. Similarly experts,  senior bureaucrats  and  policymakers  would be sharing their  experiences and  thoughts  on emerging issues like  smart cities, hydro power, solar energy, urbanization, energy policy,  infrastructure policy and  others.

Mr Arun Dhand, Director – Media Affairs in UPES informed that two Panel Discussions have been organized during the course of this conference. The one on “Energy Policy Vision 2030 in the Wake of Declining Crude Prices” would be featuring Ashok Bhattacharya, Editor-Business Standard Mr Kirit Parikh, Former Planning Commission Member; Mr Utpal Ghosh, CEO-UPES; Mr Umakant Panwar, Principal Secretary-Power, Uttarakhand Government and Mr Ramesh Karunakaran, Director-Criteria Development, CRISIL. The second panel discussion on “Potential and Challenges of Solar Energy in Uttarakhand” would comprise of Dr. Kamal Bansal, Dean, CoES, UPES, Dr. Andallib Tariq, Professor, IIT, Roorkee Dr. Prasoom Dwivedi, Professor, CoMES, UPES and Mr. N.R. Raje, Ex-Director (R&D), IOCL.
