San Francisco & San Jose MSA Regions to see a 2.92% Increase in Hotel Room Supply over the Next 12 Months

CHICAGO - Feb. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- The total supply of hotel rooms in the San Francisco and San Jose MSA regions is expected to increase from 90,000 to nearly 93,000 by March of 2017, as 19 hotels are projected to open over the next 12 months. The San Jose MSA region is expected to see a 6.07% increase in room supply, while the San Francisco MSA region is projected to see a 1.75% increase.

According to the HMD Index, the increase over the next 12 months will be driven by mid-range hotel construction with the San Jose region experiencing a 10.71% increase and San Francisco region experiencing a 2.51% increase in this category. By March 2017, Marriott International  will likely see the greatest increase in hotel room supply in the San Francisco and San Jose regions with 5.40% growth, while Hilton Worldwide   will show the second highest growth forecast at 4.10%.
