Fourth Annual Grafton Winter Carnival Promises a Big Dose of Winter

GRAFTON, Vt. - Feb. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Winter is out in force in Grafton, Vt., where the Grafton Ponds Outdoor Center will host the Fourth Annual Grafton Winter Carnival on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Snow bunnies and winter lovers are invited to play in the snow to their heart’s content before cooling down at the Grafton Inn’s Ice Bar in the evening.

The Carnival starts at 9 a.m. with Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking on the 15km trail system at Grafton Ponds, a third of which has snowmaking. Throughout the day, ice skating will be available on the pond (depending on the weather) and starting at noon, a roaring bonfire  and s’mores will light up the rest of the day. All of these activities are included in the $15 Carnival ticket, available at the gate.

During the Carnival, horse-drawn sleigh rides will be available from noon to 3:30 p.m. for $20 for adults and $12 for children. The Grafton Inn’s Pizza Truck will serve up hot pies with Grafton cheese, pepperoni or veggies from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Skis, snowshoes and fat bikes are available to rent for $12 each.

Following the festivities at Grafton Ponds, the Grafton Inn will host its popular Ice Bar event, starting at 4 p.m. Vermont libations from Harpoon Brewery, Whistlepig Whiskey, and Vermont Distillers are on tap until 9 p.m. on February 20. Tickets are $25 and include admission, two drink tickets and a souvenir glass. Phelps Barn Tavern, adjacent to the Ice Bar, will play host to live music starting at 8 p.m.
