Bail-Buddy Spokesman Police Officer Murdered While Serving Search Warrant in Atlanta Georgia

ATLANTA - Feb. 12, 2016 - PRLog -- On February 11, 2016, Riverdale Police Department utilized a "no knock" search warrant regarding possible drug activity.  The officer was fatally shot twice in abdomen by fleeing suspect.  The suspect was then engaged officers in a shoot out in which he also was fatally injured.

Maj. Greg "Lem" Barney, a 25- year veteran died following surgery. Riverdale police chief Todd Spivey was quote to say "We have lost a valuable member of our family today,". In 2004, the Atlanta Journel-Constitution reported that Barney became the first African-American to serve as Riverdale's police chief when he accepted the interim position after the retirement of Mike Edwards.

On February 3rd, 2016 Barney accepted an offer to film with Bail-Buddy production crew to educate the public on Bail-Buddy products/services.  Filming was to take place February 18, 2016 at H-Mart on SR85.  The producer mentioned today, "I knew Barney for 13 years, he use to work at my high school (Riverdale High School) as a courtesy officer.  This lost not only effects me personally but also serves as a reminder to mission statement we seek to serve." - Barcelo
