DEI Announces New ONYX Series™ Product Line

AVON LAKE, Ohio - Feb. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- The new ONYX Series™ products from DEI offer the highest level of heat protection for components that undergo severe duty or extreme heat.  This new line combines two technologically advanced textiles into a dual layer for maximum thermal control.  The outer layer with its rich black finish is made from heat treated glass fiber bonded with molten aluminum then formed into a tight weave for added strength and durability. The inner layer is a high temperature resistant fabric that is 89% Silica.  This all new product line provides heat protection for components up to 1350°F.

ONYX Series Black Pipe Shield – This new textile technology, combined with DEI’s unique stainless steel standoff brackets, creates an air gap providing maximum cooling and heat dissipation.  Designed to be flexible, the ONYX Shield (size 4” x 8”) fits many different applications and pipe diameters.  In addition to use as a protective barrier on exhaust pipes, auto or motorcycle, the shield is recommended as a heat barrier between transmissions, brake lines, hoses, electrical wiring, gas tanks, body panels, bumpers and more.  Two 3-1/2” stainless steel clamps are included and the outer edge features a surge stitch for added strength and durability.  Part #010496.

ONYX Series Starter Shield –This revolutionary new shield protects starters at risk of heat soak because of excessive direct or radiant heat.  The ONYX Series starter measures 7” width by 24” length and the length can be trimmed to size.  The hook and loop fastening design makes it easy to install without the trouble of removing the starter.  Multi-purpose in design and fit, this shield also can be used to wrap and protect most master cylinders, distributors, fuel pumps and many other components. ONYX Series Black Turbo Shield – DEI’s ONYX Series Turbo Shield maintains consistent temperature in the turbo to maximize efficiency and reduce lag.  It is now available for smaller sized turbos including Garrett^®, Mitsubishi^® and others.  The ONYX Series Shield is available for the T22 (part #010161) or the T25 (part #010163), or as a kit: T22 Kit (part #010162) or T25 (part #010164).  The kit includes the black turbo shield made of premium heat resistant textiles and newly designed stainless steel attachment anchors, a 2” x 15’ premium roll of DEI black pipe wrap, two 20” stainless steel Locking Ties, and 5’ of stainless steel fastening wire.  For specific part numbers for the Turbo Shield kit, including for the 1993 -1999 Chevy/GMC 6.5L Diesel, consult DEI’s website at www.DesignEngineering.com
