By: Cincinnati LAB Theatre "An Evening With Stephen Crane" written by playwright Phil Paradis, of Fort Thomas, KY, is directed by Robert Allen, and stars Stephen Marck as the Red Badge of Courage author Stephen Crane. The one-man show is 70 minutes long and takes place at Brede Manor, Crane's home in Sussex, England, in August of 1899. "I'm happy to work with award-winning director and actor Robert Allen and Cincinnati LAB Theatre on this production. I'm grateful for this opportunity," The situation of the play is that Stephen Crane interrupts his work to entertain Americans abroad who come to visit. He does his best to entertain, revealing the humor, wit and charm that made him beloved among his friends. Crane's anecdotes illuminate the time, his adventurous life, his family, education, and literary career; and his acquaintance with Teddy Roosevelt and The Rough Riders. "Stephen Crane lived an action-packed short life," adds Paradis. "I wanted to present the man behind the legend onstage by using some of Stephen Crane's own words and by remaining true to the historical facts of his life and times. " Actor Stephen Marck is an alumni from Northern Kentucky University with a degree in Theatre Arts and English. Robert Allen is an award-winning actor and director and has directed numerous stage readings, radio recreations, industrial films, commercials and plays. Phil Paradis is a Resident Playwright at Manhattan Repertory Theatre, a member of the Dramatists Guild, and he lives in Fort Thomas. His plays include "Soldier's Christmas," "Love Knots," "Footprints of the Polar Bear," and "A Bag of Groceries.' For more information or to purchase tickets online, visit www.falcontheater.net End
