Vicki Phillips Joins Enlearn’s Board of DirectorsBy: Enlearn Vicki Phillips most recently served as Director of College Ready in the United States Program at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation where she oversaw the foundation’s work to improve K-12 education and ensure U.S. high school students graduate ready for success in college, career, and life. Prior to joining the foundation, she was superintendent of Portland Public Schools in Portland, Oregon. Before her move to Oregon, Phillips was secretary of education and chief state school officer for the state of Pennsylvania and served as superintendent of the Lancaster, PA, school district. She has worked with the U.S. Office of Education in Washington, D.C., and has been a middle and high school teacher. “We’re thrilled to have Vicki join our board,” said John Mullin, CEO of Enlearn. “Clearly she brings a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students, teachers, and school systems as they work to help all students succeed, as well as a breadth of knowledge regarding the most promising ideas and innovations in teaching and learning.” Phillips has committed her career to increasing educational opportunities for young people. Phillips earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in school psychology from Western Kentucky University. She also holds a doctorate in education from the University of Lincoln in England.
