Kanye West “Yeezy” Fashion, TV, Movies – Model-Actress Nicole Bonifacio Hits New York

NEW YORK - Feb. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Nicole “Nikki” Bonifacio doesn’t look like the usual model. She’s not that tall at only 5’5” and she is a Filipino American with a Miley-Cyrus-style short, buzz haircut. None of that has stopped her from getting her modeling and acting career off to a blazing start in New York City. In the last week she’s been chosen as the only Asian model to be a part of rap star Kanye West’s “Yeezy Season 3” fashion presentation and the release of his new album, “The Life of Pablo,” in Madison Square Garden; she’s on the big screen in the current hit movie “How to Be Single,” and has been featured in Fox TV’s “Gotham,” the Starz’s series, “Power” and  a new CBS series, “Doubt,” that is expected to premiere soon. This past winter she was a new face on the runway in New York Fashion Week shows.

“I wake up thinking is this all real,” Bonifacio says.

The 22-year-old was born in Solano County (Vallejo) and lived in Hercules before moving to New York just this past summer.  She hasn’t stopped working since.

“I’m getting booked for jobs constantly,” she says, noting that she wants her success to be an inspiration to other girls who have talent and training, and are willing to work hard.

“I’m short; I’m a woman of color; but I have a fire so big inside, it can’t be stopped.  I want to let other girls know you don’t have to fit the usual industry standards to be successful,” Bonifacio says.

Over the last several months, Bonifacio has established an impressive list of modeling and acting credits and become eligible for membership in SAG (Screen Actors Guild), something coveted by every actor.  She’s modeled for the Gap; walked the runway in Sacramento Fashion Week; been featured in the United Kingdom edition of Harper’s Bazaar and worked with models and designers from the hit TV shows “Project Runway,” and “America’s Next Top Model.” She’s also done video commercials for Macy’s, Hilton Hotels, and a new Asics sports shoe collection for the New York boutique store Extra Butter (view video here: https://vimeo.com/146271139 ).  She is also featured in several music videos, including ones for Oscar-winning actor and singer Jennifer Hudson and the R&B singer Shaggy (featuring Gene Noble and Pitbull), among others.



“It’s not about your size; success in anything is more about belief in yourself and really going after what you want,” she says.

Bonifacio took her first acting class when she was in the eighth grade. She studied modeling at City College of San Francisco with instructors who worked with internationally-renowned models Tyra Banks and Cindy Crawford.  She earned an Associate of Arts degree and graduated with honors from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She also studied with the Undiscovered Talent Group, a LA-based firm that she credits with “bringing her out of her shell.” She is currently signed with an agency in New York and with Four Reels Studios™, a film and music production company (http://www.4reelsdigital.com).

Bonifacio will return home briefly in mid-March to visit with friends and family who still live in Hercules. Then, she’s off to Southern California to model in the Los Angeles Style Fashion Week shows.
