The Jennings, set in the early 1800’s, follows the adventures of psychic Christopher Jennings, who helps the spirits of the dead with their unfinished business. He meets Elizabeth Carlisle under the worst of circumstances – she has been viciously attacked by an otherworldly creature that robs her of her mother’s ring and leaves her for dead. Feeling guilty that he failed to prevent this attack, Christopher devotes himself to helping Elizabeth in any way he can; together, the two of them search for clues to her attacker’s identity and to the reason behind a decades-long family curse that takes two women every generation.

As Christopher struggles to decipher obscure messages from the spirit world, he realizes that Elizabeth might still be in danger. Their enemy is powerful and well-hidden, and the closer the Jennings come to solving the mystery, the more their own lives are at risk.

About the Author

S.M.R. Cooper has been writing since she was seven years old. In addition to The Jennings, she is the author of the dark fantasy series The Doorway, as well as the children’s book Beneficent Boy. She is currently hard at work on Part Four of The Doorway, making its debut in Summer 2016.

Her works tend to be action-based, describing characters through their words and deeds and not concerning themselves over-much with, for example, the appearance of clouds.

She makes her home in Laramie, Wyoming, and fills up her spare time with family and friends, kids, cats, and the occasional dog.
