Oregon’s Oldest Dairy Celebrates Centennial Milestone

PORTLAND, Ore. - March 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Alpenrose Dairy, Portland’s premiere local family-owned dairy, is commemorating its 100^th year in business. Henry Cadonau founded Alpenrose Dairy in 1916 with a few Holsteins and a love for dairy farming. Five generations later the Cadonau family still continues to provide the same enduring commitment to quality that has distinguished Alpenrose Dairy products for the past 100 years.

While the dairy industry has certainly changed since 1916, the Cadonau family philosophy has not. “Celebrating 100 years is a testament of the quality of our products, our commitment to the community and commitment from every person who currently and previously worked at the dairy,” said Carl Cadonau Jr., a fourth-generation dairy farmer. “We have a passion to produce the very best dairy products, and we will continue doing so for the next hundred years.”

The Cadonau family’s impeccable customer service and dedication to the dairy business have been a driving force in the Portland area. For the past 10 years Alpenrose has been recognized by the Portland Business Journal as one of Oregon’s Most Admired Companies in agriculture.  And the dairy has received numerous awards throughout its 100 year history.

Not only does Alpenrose Dairy and the Cadonau family provide high-quality dairy products, they also provide for the community by hosting family-friendly events. For the past 55 years, members of the community have enjoyed Alpenrose Dairy’s Christmas in Dairyville, Storybook Lane. In 2015 Alpenrose Dairy hosted the Softball Little League World Series for its 22^nd consecutive year, as well as its 53^rd annual Easter Egg Hunt. The renowned 52-acre campus features three baseball fields a stadium, museum, opera house, quarter midget race track, and Velodrome bike racing track.
