The Health Briefs TV Show to Present Melanoma Segment

The top-rated health and wellness show will air an educational segment about melanoma.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - March 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Health Briefs TV will soon present a segment covering the basics of melanoma.

There is more than meets the eye when doctors and patients discuss how to identify good moles from bad moles. While it is still considered okay to count the number of moles on the body, it is also important to note any changes in them over time using the “ABCD” method. The acronym is used to help people know what to look for:

•    Asymmetry-one half of the mole starts to look different than the other half.
•    Border-the edges of the mole begin to change and become notches, uneven, or blurred.
•    Color-the color of the mole is uneven or changes such as becoming darker.
•    Diameter-the mole becomes wider than the diameter of a pencil’s eraser head.

More than 76,000 people will be diagnosed with melanoma in 2016, according to the American Cancer Society. The health program segment on this topic is scheduled to air on regional and national cable television networks in the United States.
