By: AcroBody, LLC There’s no doubt yoga is an exploding industry. According to the 2016 Yoga in America Study conducted by Yoga Journal and Yoga Alliance, there are now 37 million Americans that practice yoga. This number is up significantly from 20 million in 2012. Additionally, 34% of Americans say they are somewhat or very likely to practice yoga in the next 12 months - equal to more than 80 million Americans. Acro yoga is a blending of yoga, acrobatics, and Thai massage. Students spend a majority of the class practicing with each other in small groups which helps cultivate trust, connection, and playfulness. The practice has received widespread social media attention due to the Cirque-du-Soleil- “We are excited to give acro yoga a home in Arizona and to share the practice with a much wider audience,” commented Patrick Reiner, owner of AcroBody. “Until now, classes have been sporadic, posing a challenge for beginners to properly learn the art. This studio is the first facility to offer classes on a daily basis.” Besides a unique curriculum, AcroBody sets itself apart by boasting 15 foot ceilings, padded floors, a spotting rig, and various acrobatics equipment that is not available at yoga studios. The line-up of instructors is equally impressive, featuring a mix of contortionists, hand balancers, acrobats, and yoga teachers. For more information, be sure to visit www.acrobody.com.
