SAN FRANCISCO - March 14, 2016 - PRLog -- Modius Inc., a recognized leader in data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solutions, today announced that it would be demonstrating its new Capacity Planning Module (PCM) at the Data Center World Global Conference, March 14 - 18, in Las Vegas, NV. OpenData v3.7 Capacity Planning Module provides data center managers and facility operators with three critical capabilities: 1) an accurate assessment of their current capacity, 2) an accurate forecast of capacity usage over time, and 3) a series of interactive power and network diagrams for assessing the impact of changes on data center capacity.

The Modius Capacity Planning Module (CPM) for OpenData v3.7 uses data from your IT and infrastructure assets to baseline current available capacity for power, cooling, space and network connections. This module also tracks changes to resources over time to accurately forecast and plan expansion projects before capacity thresholds are reached. OpenData CPM also provides a series of power and network diagrams based on current or planned infrastructure. These interactive power and network diagrams can be used to document the relationship between assets, monitor performance based on real-time data feeds, and to assess the impact of service interruptions to downstream infrastructure and applications. For example, an OpenData CPM user can virtually power-off equipment in the power-chain to assess the effectiveness of redundant power fail-over architecture or add equipment to measure the impact on existing power capacity.

"Many organizations still use spreadsheets to track asset inventory and are having a hard time assessing how much capacity is being used and the rate it is being consumed. This lack of insight makes it very difficult to make the right financial decisions for expanding existing facilities or merely optimizing the use of current infrastructure," stated Mr. Compiano, CEO of Modius. "With OpenData CPM, you can easily import your asset spreadsheet data and use it to generate accurate baselines of existing capacity. Our advanced analytics and modeling capabilities provide an inexpensive platform for creating expansion projects, planning consolidations and assessing the impact of infrastructure failures. We are very excited to be sharing it with the attendees of Data Center World."

Conference attendees can demo OpenData EMM at the company's booth #543 and also review recent enhancements for Asset and Environmental Management.
