Winter is a pretty quiet time for tax sales in the Northeast with the exception of the Nassau County tax sale in NY. But things start to pick up in March. There are live and online tax lien sales in New Jersey in March and April. There are also some tax sales in Vermont this time of year, although there are only a handful of properties on the list in most Vermont municipalities and sometimes the taxes on these properties get paid before the sale and they are removed from the auction. In New Jersey and in Vermont (as in all of the New England states) tax sales are held by the municipality, not the county. Alabama tax sales are also just getting started this month. The District of Columbia has their tax sale in March and Maryland tax sales will start up in April and some of Maryland counties have online tax sales.

Tax Deed Sales

There are online tax deed sales on both coasts; on the east coast in Florida and on the west coast in California. There are live tax deed sales this month and next month in Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Redeemable Deed Sales

There are redeemable deed sales on the first Tuesday of every month in the larger counties of Texas and Georgia. And this spring there will also be redeemable deed sales in Connecticut, Tennessee, and Philadelphia, PA. The good news is that there is finally one county that has a redeemable deed sale online. Shelby County Tennessee is the first county in TN to have an online tax sale and the only county that has a redeemable tax sale online.
